2007 Thanksiving Day Baskets

Publix donated 25 Turkeys and the Kiwanis club donated enough money for us to be able to prepare 25 Thanksgiving baskets with fruit, nuts, etc. along with a gift card to purchase the rest of a Thanksgiving dinner for each of the families. We had 3 families in houses, 6 families in apartments and the rest of the families in the YWCA shelter. Most of the families had 4 people with one family having 5 members. Holly Comer of the YWCA of North West Georgia Domestic Violence Program told us, when we delivered the baskets, that if it had not been for the generosity of our club that most of these families would have not had a Thanksgiving. In talking with other members, we all felt we had many blessings in our life and it felt wonderful to be able to share with others who needed our help at this time.
