Relay for Life WalkAmerica Campaign

For the seventh year, Marietta Kiwanis will have a Relay for Life team.  The event will begin at 6:00 pm on May 11th at Jim Miller Park and will run throughout the night.  The overnight event will have hundreds of teams gathering to celebrate cancer survivorship and community spirit.  There will be music, food, contests, awards, prizes, decorated campsites and on-site fun-raising activities.  Someone from each team walks on the track during the entire event.  At a luminary ceremony after dark, candles are lit in remembrance of those who lost their battle with cancer and in honor of survivors.  You do not have to spend the night to take part in the event.  Come for an hour, an evening or the whole night...but come!

Many Kiwanis members have been personally touched by cancer and most have had a loved one who has battled with this disease.  Let's show our support by joining the Kiwanis team.  For ten dollars ($10) you will be on the team and will receive a t-shirt.  Let's make a great showing for those we care about by joining together to "M*A*S*H" cancer.

You have a conflict and can't come that night?  Show your support by purchasing a luminary in honor/memory of someone close to you for $10.  The luminary service is one of the most moving tributes ever as a bagpipe band plays and marches around a totally silent track surrounded by thousands of people standing reverently on behalf of the courageous men, women and children who have battled this dreadful disease.

See Mike Russell or Carol Wisdom to join the Marietta Kiwanis team.  We are counting on you!
