Scholarship Committee

PURPOSE: Committee is responsible for managing and soliciting participants for the six directed scholarships that are administered by the club and the three scholarships directed by the schools they represent.

The five scholarships directed by the Marietta Kiwanis Club are: establish goals for long standing projects as well as new projects.

The Ebbie Lance Chattahoochee Technical College Scholarship Fund
E. W. Chastain Scholarship Fund
Turner-Howard Scholarship Fund
Marietta Kiwanis Special Education Scholarship Fund
Representative Jack Vaughan Scholarship Fund

The three scholarships directed by the schools they represent are:

Kennesaw State University Fred and Drucilla Beck Scholarship
Southern Polytechnic University Fred and Drucilla Beck Scholarship

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with each school to maximize the impact of the scholarship.
Assign one committee person to each scholarship.
Work with the Publicity and Communications Committee to get the word out about each scholarship and recruit more applicants.
The committee is responsible for the program where these scholarships are awarded to the recipients. This program is usually held in the month of June.
